Intro to Basic Pastel Nagomi Art

Pastel Nagomi Art is a type of art that originated from Japan that uses soft pastel’s powder to create soothing, warm and gentle artwork. By using a simple and unique technique of painting using your finger.

The process of painting is relaxing, calming and therapeutic. It will calm one’s feelings and awaken a sense of hope and joy in their heart.

From a child to the elderly, with or without any art experience, whether by yourself or with family, friends, or colleague, everyone is welcome to enjoy the beauty and benefit of Pastel Nagomi Art.

Description: 

Seow Jin Chong was a violinist with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra for 30 years, from 1983 to 2013, during which time he also served as Orchestra Manager between 1997 and 2000.

A Public Service Commission scholar and graduate of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, UK, he furthered his studies at the Rubin Academy of Music in Tel Aviv, Israel, on an Israeli Government scholarship from 1985 to 1986. In 1987, Jin Chong was the winner of the Rolex Music Performance Awards (Violin).

He lives in Singapore with his wife and 7 children, teaching and performing on a freelance basis.

Jin Chong will be accompanied on the keyboard by his wife, Soh Hwee Ping.

Has the Circuit Breaker turned you into a newly minted plant parent? :P or maybe you have the exact opposite of a Green Thumb? Whatever your level of plant interaction you can express your love for greenery in watercolor with our beginner-friendly painting workshop.

Learn to create fun textures and patterns with foundational techniques such as layering watercolors, wet on wet, colour blending and gradients. Practice adding whimsical details on top with ink and create a final poece showcasing your favourite plants ranging from monsteras to palms, spider plants, aloe, wax agave and more – no weekly watering needed!
